Assignment 1
Social psychology is the compulsory subject in my FNBE course semester 2. This subject is about the activities of individuals in the presence of others and the processes of social interaction between people. In assignment 1, we were asked to write an individual journal, which consists of 2 entries. Each entry has to explain our own events or experiences together with the social psychology concepts that we have applied in.

After completing
this assignment, I have learned the first learning outcome, which is to apply
psychological theories and concepts to my personal life and that of others. I
understand that whenever we
interact with the social, there must be at least one psychological
theory that we have applied in. These theories and concept can be positive or
negative.
The second learning
outcome that I have obtained is to understand myself better
and my interactions
with others
in terms of psychology. This assignment made me recall back my old
memories about my interaction with the social, which includes my friends, my
family and strangers. It made me to think back how I react and what is my
behavior while interacting with them. Consequently, I have understood deeper
about myself throughout this assignment.
My feedback for this assignment is GOOD. Why am I saying so?
This is because after I joining this FNBE program, the busy study life has made
me forget many of the good memories in my past time and this assignment gave me
the chance to recall all of them. Besides, after recalling all those good
memories, I found that I have done some wrong things in my past. It makes me to
remind myself not to do it again in my future.
Assignment 2
In my assignment 2 of the
Social Psychology, we were asked to
work in group of up to 4 members to search for articles or advertisements and
apply the concepts that we learned in Chapter 6 – Attitude & Persuasion
(Part 1), Chapter 6 – Attitude & Persuasion (Part 2), Chapter 7 -
Stereotyping, Prejudice & Discrimination, Chapter 8 – Prosocial Behavior,
and Chapter 9 – Aggression. We had to complete 10
advertisements or articles. This assignment would also be presented in class.
After completing this assignment, I have learned the first
learning outcome, which is to apply psychological theories and concepts to my
personal life and that of others. I knew that social psychology theories are
everywhere in our daily life. Even though the advertisements or articles in
newspapers and magazines would also consist of the theories.
The second learning outcome is to understand myself better
and
my interactions with others
in terms of psychology. I learned that even I would
be affected by some of the advertisements and articles, which consist of Social
Psychology theories, such as the promotion advertisement.
Engaging in psychological
inquiry and
become self-regulated
learner is the last outcome that I learned from this
assignment. When I was facing some problems in doing this assignment, I would
like to check back the lecture note and solve it by myself. This made me to
become more independent.
This assignment for me was very challenging and interesting. This
was because we could not search the sources through Internet but only could
search from the newspapers and magazines. So, it was quite fun while I was
searching the relevant article and advertisement with my group members. Besides,
this assignment also trained me to be more cooperative so as to work better
with them. It is not an easy job to be done, so I like it!
